Build a branded cover page
Build a cover template once with your logo, version, owner and approval date, then apply it to any policy in two clicks.
We're recording this one. The written walkthrough below covers every step.
What you will do
Build a reusable cover template, then put it on a policy.
Why a cover page matters
Page one of a policy is where an inspector looks for the version number, who owns the policy, who approved it and when it was last reviewed. A cover template carries all of that on every document without you retyping it.
Build the template
Select Templates in the sidebar. The Cover Page Builder opens with a live preview beside it.
Fill in the document title and your registered company name.
Add the scope line, for example: this policy applies to all staff, contractors and volunteers.
Set the version, the dates, the author and the approver.
Choose a layout. Standard, Modern and Split each move the same information around. Watch the preview and pick the one that suits your branding.
Select Save Template. Saved covers appear under Saved Covers, ready for every future policy.
Upload your logo first
Your logo comes from your account, not from the template. Go to Account, then the Company tab, and upload a PNG, JPG or SVG up to 2MB.
That logo appears on your cover pages and on the page your staff see when they sign, so it is worth doing once, properly.
Apply the cover
Open a policy in the editor.
Open the Insert menu and select Cover.
Pick your saved cover from the tiles. Search by title or company name once the list grows.
The cover goes in as page one and travels with every PDF and Word export.
Next
